The cheesecake is claimed! Steadfast readers of the Star Chamber will recall that last winter I offered a cheesecake, free of charge, to the first person who would mail me a regular old postcard. In the last fortnight I received via the U.S. Postal Service the requisite postcard (see Figure 1 below) from Stephanie Grant of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Hers was a lively picture postcard of Dragon Boat Racing at Ipswich Dock in Suffolk, England. In return, she received not only an Eli's famous Chicago cheesecake, but also a return postcard with original Star Chamber artwork (see Figure 2 below).

Because it was so gratifying to receive a postcard, I would like to leave a standing offer to replace the cheesecake. If you send me a postcard (the odder the better), I will send you an original Star Chamber artwork postcard (but no cheesecake), and you may well attain lasting fame by being mentioned in this space. Just what is an original Star Chamber artwork postcard? Send me something and find out:

Thanks for the card, Stephanie!

The Star Chamber ProseCam
Webcams are sweeping the nation, and it seems as if there is no glutting the public market for viewing the dazzling ennui that daily befuddles others like us. Given this trend (and a little coaxing of the Star Chamber comptroller and CFO), we have recently purchased and installed a new Model 2100 Texas Instruments ProseCam to record scenes live as they occur here at the headquarters building.Click here to get a glimpse "behind the browser" at the Star Chamber. We hope you enjoy the show.
