I just picked up the latest Smithsonian magazine which has yet another article on this topic: House Proud, about the Glidehouse from Michelle Kaufmann Designs.

They highlight the <a href="http://www.kierantimberlake.com/featured_projects/loblolly_1.html" rel="nofollow">Loblolly house</a> which was designed using similar 3D CAD software, then built in the factory and constructed on site. There is another good <a href="http://inhabitat.com/2007/01/05/prefab-friday-loblolly-house/" rel="nofollow">write-up on the project</a> over at the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/" rel="nofollow">inhabitat blog</a>, a blog about green issues.
